Abstract

During the last 50 years, there have been significant advances in our understanding of the relationship between diet and health. In particular, we now have an appreciation of the role of nutrition in the development of cardiovascular diseases. the factors which influence the availability and choice of food by individuals are extremely complex and may vary markedly between countries. This volume presents a variety of perspectives on the approach towards the implementation of dietary guidelines from different parts of the world.
