Abstract

Research on the relationship between education and occupational career in Russia shows that the type of secondary educational institution from which people initially graduate has a lengthy and latent differentiating influence on their accumulation of educational capital and their educational and professional trajectories. The groups with varying levels of starting education have different opportunities to acquire further education and tend to achieve different levels of both material and personal well-being.
